Being small means that we are flexible. We undertake commissions both small and large and specialise in projects that respond creatively to their context. We are committed to design, detailing and materiality. Attention to detail has always been our lens, and our love for design and building sites is the engine. We work with an interdisciplinary network of makers, builders, and designers leading to innovative collaborations. We offer a high level of expertise in both architectural design and planning issues. Teaching and research is a vital aspect of the studio ethos and highly embedded in our work.
A Small Studio have worked on a special project with the Bat Conservation Trust to enhance bat-friendly infrastructure in the area, to help bats navigate between local green spaces. This includes a starter pack called A Small Bat Pack for people to improve their own outdoor space to make it a more bat-friendly environment.
