The Government has made changes to business use classes which will become effective from 1st September.
The new approach will allow far greater flexibility to change uses within town centres without the need to obtain planning permission and aims to promote the vitality and viability of town centres by allowing more diversification.
The changes provide for three new uses classes:
Class E (Commercial, business and service)
Class F.1 (Learning and non-residential institutions)
Class F.2 (Local community)
Premises like pubs, takeaways, cinemas & bingo halls remain the same class (sui generis) which means that the planning restrictions remain the same.
