Business Development Manager

Local Greens is an established veg box business in Herne Hill and operates across
Southeast London with a base of 400 weekly customers. We are looking for a
Business Development Manager to take over from the existing Founding Director,
who will be retiring.

The position would suit someone who is keen to run a small
business, enjoys a challenge and has energy and drive to lead the organisation,
increase sales and take the business to a position of growth and development.
Local Greens has secured a £15K business improvement loan to support and
underpin this development, which will be released on appointment of the successful
applicant.

We’re looking for someone who can increase sales rates from the current 1%
(equivalent of 45 net customers a year) to at least 1.5% (75 net customers, so up by
30 net customers a year). This will enable the business to move from a break-even
position to one of growth over the course of the next 20 months. Detailed financial
forecasts and assumptions are available on request.

The role is currently part-time: 15 hours a week, £33K pro-rata, with scope for
increase as the business grows. It is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is
passionate about sustainable food and improving the local food system.
