Could you offer a young person a six month paid work experience?
Funding is available under the government’s new Kickstart Scheme to employers for salary costs (paid at National Minimum Wage) for six months, with an additional £1,500 available to employers to support the placement set up.
Kickstart placements should be a minimum of 25 hours per week, lasting for 6 months and provide valuable experience and support for young people to progress in their career journey.
Employers who are able to offer 30 or more placements can submit a direct bid for Kickstart funding. However, Lambeth’s Opportunity team will work as an intermediary which will make the process easier and less labour intensive to apply for these smaller companies who only want to hire one or two Kickstarters.
To register your interest in being a placement host and to receive further information on the Council’s Kickstart proposals, please complete the following short questionnaire and one of the Opportunity Lambeth team will get in touch to discuss further.
Funding available for each job will cover 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.
