At the end of last week Councillor Jack Hopkins, leader of Lambeth Council, announced a set of new grant funds from Lambeth Council for businesses who have been unable to access previous funding.

The details of how to apply and who is eligible can be found here.

The Lambeth Local Economy Hardship Fund will provide £4.2m in grants to support over 370 organisations, including independent hospitality businesses such as restaurants, pubs, cafes, clubs and music venues, cultural organisations, charities, market traders and businesses in shared workspaces.

Grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 will be available to a range of badly hit businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations to support their chances of survival and recovery.

The fund has four different categories:

  • Shared Workspaces and Market Traders Fund – the application process will be open until 100 applications have been received. They will then be checked for eligibility and approved. To Apply: Applications will open from 9am on Friday 29th May 2020. The application form will be available here. What you will need to to apply here.
  • Independent Hospitality Fund – Lambeth will invite businesses we have identified to be eligible, and those who believe they are eligible, to complete an application process which will be used to assess eligibility and award the grants. To Apply: More details will be available week commencing 1st June 2020.
  • Arts and Culture at Risk Fund – This fund will target those organisations where there is a demonstrable risk of failure and where organisations have a proven track record of delivering social impact in the borough. Due to the limited amount of funding, we expect there to be more applications than there are grants available. We will ensure that at least 40% of organisations benefiting are Black, Asian and minority ethnic and/or female led through the application process.  To Apply: More details will be available week commencing 1st June 2020.
  • Charitable Organisations Fund – Charities who are eligible for this have been identified through our business rates database and will be contacted directly by the council (week commencing 1st June) to complete an application form.
