You can now apply for the new ‘Pavement License’ at a cost of £100.00.

It will allow you to have tables and chairs outside your establishment for your customers, providing you with extra socially distanced seating options. Lambeth will be fast tracking these applications and you should receive it within 7 working days. You can use this link to apply for the license through Lambeth Council. The government has extended this scheme until 2022.

If you have a next door neighbouring business who does not mind your cafe having tables in front of their premises as well as yours, this is also possible, Lambeth just need to see written permission from them.

To apply for your licence you will need to provide the following:

  • Proof of address: copy of recent utility bill (gas/electricity/water), Council Tax bill, or bank/building society statement, dated within the last 3 months and in the name of the applicant
  • Proof of photographic ID: copy of current photo driving licence, passport of the applicant
  • Public liability insurance: copy of the section of your insurance document showing your company has public liability cover
  • A sketch or layout of the area you wish to place your tables and chairs or other removable furniture. Please see our guidance and considerations when preparing a sketch for a pavement licence.

You can find details of how to claim a refund on any previously purchased ‘Tables and chairs license’ on the Lambeth website.

Very concerned to hear that a young man was stabbed yesterday just off Lordship Lane near the South Circular junction

Glad to hear that the victim’s injuries aren’t life threatening. I hope he makes a swift recovery

If you have any information please contact @CrimestoppersUK
