STATION TO STATION BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT’S (BID) PRIVACY POLICY

INTRODUCTION

Station to Station BID is an independent, not-for-profit, business-led company set up with the aim to increase opportunities for local businesses and provide a network where enterprises can help and support one another.

We have been voted in by the West Norwood and Tulse Hill BID area business community to enhance the operating environment through a variety of projects, events and business support initiatives. Building a thriving business community is at the core of Station to Stations’ objectives, by making it possible for residents, visitors, other businesses and developers to access local services and amenities more easily.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected about you, how this is collected and under what circumstances would this information be disclosed to others; and also, your rights over any personal information we hold about you. This policy applies to both the Station to Station website and offline business directory and mailing list.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We collect information from you when you register to become a member of Station to Station on our website or when you email us. From time to time, we also carry out outreach work engaging directly with businesses in the local area through walk-up or pre-arranged meetings, emails and phone calls using information that is publicly available to contact you or through correspondence such by phone, email, social media or otherwise.

  • To send periodic emails and/or newsletters for the purposes of keeping you updated with BID related meetings, events and other activities being undertaken by the organisation. We may also email you to notify you about any key events taking place in the immediate area that may be of interest to businesses, such as events held in and around the West Norwood and Tulse Hill Business improvement district.
  • To administer surveys and feedback requests in relation to BID activities.
  • To contact you regarding payment for your membership and other costs where applicable.

HOW LONG IS YOUR INFORMATION KEPT FOR?

In accordance with Data Protection Law, we will only store this information for as long as the original purpose dictates and in order to meet Station to Station’s objectives to sustain a local business network. Station to Station conducts regular reviews of the business directory and mailing list and where appropriate, contact details can be removed if businesses have moved away from the area for example and no longer wish to receive information or news from Station to Station BID.

DO WE DISCLOSE ANY INFORMATION TO OUTSIDE PARTIES?

Station to Station does not sell, rent or share information to third parties for marketing purposes. We will not share your details with any other parties without your consent.

YOUR RIGHTS

Under current legislation you have certain mandatory rights regarding your data. You will have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you, request any data to be corrected, request data to deleted if it is of no longer legally or operationally required or object to your data being used for profiling.
