Subsidised Recycling

Get half price recycling with Lambeth Gold!

Station to Station is switching its subsidised waste collection from First Mile to Lambeth Gold, the commercial waste collection service for the council.

If you are already a Lambeth Gold customer and a Station to Station member, you will be eligible for the reduced rates from 1st February 2023. For First Mile customers, the subsidised recycling agreement will end on 28 February 2023, giving you plenty of time to switch if you decide to do so.

To sign up, call 02079262122 or email gold@lambeth.gov.uk , with your business premises address and quote ‘S2S BID rate’. Providing you are a Station to Station levy payer, you will be eligible for the discount.

Lambeth Gold will provide each participating business with:

● 200 standard recycling sacks at half price per year* (this amounts to an annual saving of approx. £120.00 per year)
● General waste sacks at discounted BID rate (approx. 30% less than non BID customers, please mention you are Station to Station member and ask for the ‘S2S BID rate’)
● Two collections a day (7-8am, 5.30-6.30pm, Monday to Sunday – click here for more information on the Timed Collection Zone)
● A customer service helpline 02079262122  and email address gold@lambeth.gov.uk to deal with any enquiries and and a dedicated account manager, Gregg, who can deal with issues on a one to one basis if required.

Due to the number of service vehicles operating through the day and evening in the area, including vehicles supporting town centre cleaning – the risk of missed collections (and other non-compliances) is minimised. The Council will enforce the contract it has with Serco to ensure those high levels of service are maintained. In this way, service users will benefit from the Council’s understanding of local restrictions, needs and environment.

Collections of business and resident waste will happen at the same time with the same vehicle, thereby reducing traffic/pollution in the area.

Lambeth’s borough recycling rate is the best in inner London and it has the 4th highest improvement in the country since 2020.

40 of its 120 strong fleet are electric, with all vehicles being electrified by 2030.

Lambeth Gold, unlike other waste collection companies, is a not-for-profit organisation and revenue generated by the service is invested in the business or to support other council services, rather than being paid out to a private company or its shareholders.

*if a business uses more than their 200 allocation, any further bags will be sold at a discounted rate of £1.45 if between 1 and 50 sacks top up, £1.35 for 5—500 and £1.20 over 500.
