The roadworks have now moved further towards Elmcourt Road but roadworks on the south end of Norwood road are on hold currently while Thames Water review the route of the main to take account of existing services that have been encountered. The traffic management in this area of the works has been removed as of Thursday 4th September. However, some traffic management will be set up on the morning of Monday 9th September to enable a trial to be carried out for 3 days to assess whether the works can continue with two teams working simultaneously whilst maintaining acceptable traffic flows.

The foot print of the scheme is from the junction of Chatsworth way to Wylett place, traffic management will be set out on the morning of the 9th September for 6 to 8 weeks. Chatsworth way is closed to minimise the traffic interruptions on Norwood road, also to allow B&Q deliveries to pass through due to not being able to turn in to the store because of the Thames Water barriers, some of the lorries will have to drive along Dalton street as they can’t get in from Norwood road.

All works will be carriageway work only and shouldn’t interfere with any businesses outdoor seating. Thames Water have also confirmed Feast should not be affected as they will accommodate them.
